How can I get product key for Platform Builder? RRS feed

  • pay $995 (or whatever) for Platform Builder, then uninstall all of PB and VS 2005 and your BSP, and then reinstall everything, providing the product key when prompted.

    Sorry to break the news, but AFAIK there is no means to enter the product key when the trial period expires with a complete re-install.

  • Does the dialog let you skip entering the product key?  If not, you can download an eval of PB from the MSFT Embedded website.

  • When you downloaded the evaluation, the key was either provided or was emailed to you - I don't recall which.   But, it is important that you provide a valid email address that you can check.

  • Good point, Bruce.  Someone else here installed our PB eval, so I never saw that a product key was involved for the evaluation.
