  • Hello renerchen,

I have the same issue for MS Office 10 pro production as well. Did you find a solution to install office in Container yet?

I also provide the informations from the log, if this might help:

    PERF: TickCount=16894937 Name=OBootStrapper::Run Description=Begin function
Operating System version: 6.2.9200 . Platform ID: 2
Running 32-bit setup on a 64-bit operating system.
    Command line: "C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\setup.exe" /adminfile .\Updates\containertestthree.MSP /config .\ProPlus.WW\config.xml
    Parsing command line.
    Admin patch file/path specified: C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\Updates\containertestthree.MSP
    Config XML file specified: C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\ProPlus.WW\config.xml
    Parsing config.xml at: C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\ProPlus.WW\config.xml
Preferred product specified in config.xml to be: PROPLUS
Logging type standard specified in config.xml.
Log directory: C:\Users\ContainerAdministrator\AppData\Local\Temp specified in config.xml
Log file template: Microsoft Office Professional Plus Setup(*).txt specified in config.xml
Display level none specified in config.xml.
Suppression of modal dialogs specified in config.xml.
Hide completion notice specified in config.xml.
Auto accept license specified in config.xml.
    Verify file signature in "C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\setup.exe"
    C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\setup.exe is trusted.
    Verify file signature in "C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\ProPlus.WW\OSETUP.DLL"
    C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\ProPlus.WW\OSETUP.DLL is trusted.
Error: Failed to load DLL: C:\Install\Office2010proproduction\ProPlus.WW\OSETUP.DLL ErrorCode: 126(0x7e).

Also tried it by editing and using config.xml itself, same issue.

As for renerchen, both methods from: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd630736.aspx work fine on the Windows Server 2016 itself.

    Any solution would be great!

    Thanks in advance

    Marcel

  • Hi Marcel and renerchen,

Installing Office isn't supported right now in Containers.  See here for more details.

    Cheers,

    Myles
