Translation of tile

Question

Hi,
I am trying to translate my app to other languages. One big problem seems to be the word "tile". Is there a list what this is called in other languages?
Best Regards

In Spanish, "Live tiles" has been translated as "Iconos dinámicos" (in English, "dynamic icons").
"Deactivate live tile" -> "Desactivar el icono dinámico"
In the control panel you're able to install more languages, but maybe a faster workaround is using the MS docs... Some examples for the same page:

Take a look at the terminology search feature on the Microsoft Language Portal at http://www.microsoft.com/Language/en-US/Default.aspx .

You can use the name Tile, don´t have problem in my opinion. There are some works that is complicate to translate and in that case you don´t.
In Portuguese language i have doubts to translate, i don´t know if is using "Mosaico" or "Atalho".

I think this might confuse some persons. I know that the German translation is "Kachel" and this is used everywhere in Windows. I never read the word tile in a German text, too. so I thing not everybody will know what a "tile" is.
Is your windows in portuguese? The word is mentioned a few times in the settings or in "deactivate live tile".

Hi,
I tried to change the windows language before but I didn't find a way. Now I tried again... They removed some "install language" button from the control panel in the final windows version but there is a language pack which is hard to find. With this I managed to change the windows language.
But you are right, it is probably faster if I use the translated website you pointed out.
Thank you.
