IIS 6 issue. 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

hi guys.. i having some difficulties while browsing images from my server.

401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

I'm using IIS 6. Windows 2008 R2.

I have tried the following but not working as expected.

1. IIS Manager → Sites → Website
2. Double click "Authentication"
3. Select Anonymous Authentication
4. From the Actions panel, select Edit
5. Select Application pool Identity and click ok

Hi,

Could it be a file level security problem and in particular is the anonymous account allowed to access those files?

Not directly related but IIS 6 starts to be really outdated....
