MediaElement GPU Acceleration

Question

My MediaElement in WPF runs kind of on the slow side. This is not necessarily due to hardware, because it even runs slow on my computer sometimes.
I was wondering if I could enable GPU acceleration on it or, if there is a way, should I just throw it on another Thread?
