WCF, SWT and WIF - how to get it working? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I am trying to configure basicHttpBinding (optinally RESTful) WCF web service for WIF and SWT token authentication – token handler implementation found here: https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/Custom-Token-ddce2f55.

I spent last two days going through numerous examples and articles. Some posts suggest using ws2007FederationHttpBinding, some mention WSFederationAuthenticationModule and SessionAuthenticationModule are necessary, some other advice using custom IssuerNameRegistry and/or CustomIssuerTokenResolver. So far nothing worked as expected. On http request SimpleWebTokenHandler instance gets created but ValidateToken() method is not called. What am I missing?

SWT tokens are preferably attached to the http requests as standard "Authentication" http header or SOAP BinarySecurityToken - server has to handle different platform clients.

What is the minimum, simplest web.config?

    Please advise.
