"Unable to connect to a phone." RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to connect my Nokia Lumia 920, so I could deplay an app, but I'm not able to. The Windows Phone SDK does not reconize the phone, it says: "Unablle to connect to a phone. Make sure that the Windows Phone IP over USB Transport (IpOverUsbSvc) service is running". I double check it, and it is!

Also, I've tried deploying to another device (Nokia Lumia 530) and it worked perfectly! It seems like it's a problem on my phone. Some time ago (months, almost year), I developed my last app on WP with this device (lumia 920) and I was able to deploy it.

Any idea what it could be?

I'm running Windows Phone Developer Registration 8.1, on Windows 10.

    Thank you

  • nevermide, just fixed!

All I had to do was uninstall the driver at device manager

     "Windows Phone" under "Portable Devices"

    - "RM-821|Nokia Lumia 920" (three times) under "Universal Serial Bus devices"

Stoped the IpOverUsbSvc service, connected the phone and start the service again and it reconized as magic!
