Error message in VS2015 when using Cloud Explorer

    Question

  • Hi,

I try to create a database in the Data Lake Store. I already reinstalled the Data Lake tools but get always this error message:

Cloud Explorer has encountered an unexpected error:

    Namespace Azure.Actions.DataLake.Analytics.GetAccount is invalid.
    Correct format is {MarshallerName}.{FunctionName}.
Is there a way to use Powershell to create a database?

    Regards
    Jörg

  • Azure Data Lake does not support Cloud Explorer yet, but this is planned. In the meanwhile, you can use Server Explorer.

You use PowerShell to create a database. There isn't a specific cmdlet to do it though, you'll have to submit a U-SQL script with the appropriate DDL statements that create the database.

  • You can also use Server Explorer to build the script and submit it.
