WPR (windows Performance recorder) tool behaves differently on Win 8,10 vs Win 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • WPR (windows Performance recorder) tool seems to be behaving differently on Win 8,10 vs Win 7. It appears to be creating an extra session on Win 7 for NT Kernel Logger and does not seem to share existing session. I have a consumer application which listens to ETW events using shared session from NT Kernel Logger. If I change the order and start WPR first and then My consumerApp then WPR seems to run ok. And WPR is not able to start the recording if I start the WPR after my consumer app is started.

How to workaround this limitation in WPR for windows 7. An early response in this regard is appreciated.
