Set up debug environment for Windows Driver Development. RRS feed

  • All, I got an error in the test computer which says "Failed:Network debugging is only supported on Windows 8 and future versions of Windows" When I was following the instructions of this to set up debug environment.

    My host computer is Windows7 64bit, and My test computer is Windows7 32bit. both them are in the same domain.

    Please help me .thanks.

  • The error is pretty clear (and correct). Network debugging is supported on win8 and newer. To debug w7, you need to use serial, 1394, or usb2.

  • Yes, I just found it in the doc. thanks. 

    "If your target computer is running a version of Windows prior to Windows 8, you cannot use a network connection for debugging; you must use a USB, 1394, or serial connection. However, you must have a network connection for provisioning."
