Local printer port; user/admin issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I'm writing a customized pdf printer with the wdk samples: oemps.dll and oemui.dll.
I created the printer on a new local port, it woks on vista and xp as administator but not on xp being limited user. The document stays in the spooleur with an error and don't call "writeprinter()" to build the postscript file.

I tried to add a port monitor (sample from wdk, I don't need the port to do anything) it's the same problem.

It works on LPT1, admin and user (but not everywhere)

I was wondering if ":" at the end of port names wanted to say someting special: "LPT1:"
I am looking for informations concerning port and user right.

  • Ok I just found out it works without the option "Enable advanced printing features" in the advanced tab of the printer.
I 'm now looking to disable it automatically (in c)
