VBA standard functions parameters and results on 64 bit installations of office 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I can’t install right now the 64 bit version of excel 2010 so I cannot test it.

I just need to know if, using the 64 bit version of excel 2010, the standard vba function LenB()  returns a long value or if it returns a longlong value. I also need to know if, using again the 64 bit version of excel 2010, the standard vba function String() accept as the "number" parameter a long one or a longlong one too.

I need to know that because I am writing macros that will be run on 64 bit installations of excel 2010 and I need to know If I have to convert the result of LenB() function to longlong  (since I need to pass a longptr parameter to a windows api) and/or If I have to convert a longlong variable to long to pass it as an argument of the vba String() function.

Thanks a lot for any help

    Best regards
