I have an existing 2010 web form application that runs ssrs 2010 reports within the application. I would like to upgrade to visual studio 2012 or visual studio 2013 or newer version. Can you tell me if I would have problems within the application running the ssrs reports? Can you tell me what I can do to upgrade to a newer version of visual studio for both the web form application and the ssrs reports? Can you tell me what I may need to consider if problems arise? Do I need to somehow upgrade the report viewer control and if so, what do I need to do to update the report viewer control?

Hi wendy elizab..,

First try to take a backup, So if anything goes wrong. You can recover it from the backup.

Further, If we talk about the Web application then you can just try to open it with new version of Visual Studio.

It will give you a message box to migrate the solution. do it and you will be able to run your project with newer version of Visual Studio.

If we talk about SSRS then you also need to take care about supported SQL server database.
