Sockets in Windows Store Apps RRS feed

  • I am working on converting an existing Windows networking app to a Windows store app, but am not having any luck getting the networking to work. The app communicates with a hardware controller using sockets. All data sent and received is in byte arrays.

    My running code for Win 7 creates a socket, then uses Socket.Connect to connect to the controller.

    Data (Packet is Byte array) sent to controller using:

    Socket.Send(Packet)

    Data is received using:

           numberOfBytesRead = Socket.Receive(Packet)

    I’ve been working with StreamSockets and DataReaders and DataWriters, but I am just having no luck. Is there any way to do something similar to simply send and receive byte arrays? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
