  • The different strategies are explained in great detail in: .NET Framework Support for Windows Store Apps and Windows Runtime
When starting anew, consider in particular developing "Windows Runtime Components" to be used by any programming language that supports the Windows Runtime. You can use your component in Windows Store apps with C++, JavaScript, Visual Basic, or C#.

  • Hi ForInfo,

Can we also design user controls in Windows Runtime Component?

  • You can but must take the constraints(*) of WindowsRuntimeComponent projects into account: a UC will be created as a 'sealed' class. Experiment by creating a solution with a VB main project to invoke a C# UC in a WRC project.
