Windows Server 2008: Terminal Server Cluster compatibility RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We have several Windows 2008 and Windows Cluster 2008 R2 nodes, each consisting of two "real" and one tie-break node. Since our team grew we often get hold up by the limit of two remote desktop sessions at a time so we consider buying terminal licenses (the cluster environemnt already exists).

I read different articles whether the terminal server role is supported in combination with the cluster functionality, for instance see this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327270/en-us -> is this now affecting Windows Server 2008 or not? The tile does not really cover with the articles content.

I feel stupid for such a silly question but can I simply add and activate the terminal server license to our existing cluster nodes (physical machines) and raise the number of allowed simultaneous remote desktop sessions? Anyone has experience with that?

    Thanks for your help
