Group Policy restrictioning Java scripts from running RRS feed

  • Question

  • PC's are in workgroup environment (no AD controllers). Using Local Group Policies to restrict local user Acct.

Everything is working as planned except, Internet webpages using Java Scripts and Flash.

I do restrict which applications are allowed to run, and have allowed JAVA, JAVAW, and other programs.

I have tried enabling several "settings" in the following path:

    \Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page\Internet Zone\

    Settings such as:

    -Allow active scripting

-Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars

    -Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls

-Disable .NET Framework Setup (Enable and Disable)

    -Download signed ActiveX controls

    -Java Permissions -Low Safety -Enabled

    -Run ActiveX controls and plugins

-Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting

    -Scripting of Java applets

    -Use Pop-up Blocker - Disable

    -XAML browser applications

    -XPS documents

Also many other settings were enabled. I tried to configure them as my Internet Options Security settings are listed in my IE8 browser.

Are there other settings particular to JAVA and Flash for websites?

What is the difference between the Internet Zone and the Locked-down Internet Zone?
