reference .NET dll from windows store app RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey

So yesterday I tried to add a "normal" .NET dll to a wp8 project and it didn t work..invalid assembly. I know that windows store apps and wp8 just have a subset of .NET APIs but that dll doesn t use APIs that are not supported....Then I read that it is not possible to use "normal" .NET dlls in WP8 and Windows Store app projects. You can only use librarys that are targeting that platforms...

I was surprised as I already succsessfully use that same .NET dll in a C# windows store app on an arm device...

So why can I use that .NET dll in windows store apps but not in wp8? What is the difference?

  • wp8 is really difference while store apps are the same .net engine, only due some reasons (in most case securuty) not the full .net is available
