Job executes in BIDS but not when scheduled via SSMS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a SSIS package that executes a script task.

    The script task:

    creates an access object

    opens an access database

    runs a macro

    closes the database

    quits the application

This runs fun when executed from BIDS however when I schedule it as a job via SSMS, I get an error message:  Script Task: Error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.  This job uses a proxy account to run and the proxy account has full access to everything.  I've scoured the internet but can't seem to find an answer.  My manager and I are at a loss.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Sharon,

I do not know what place in code it fails at, but it seems still either the access permission exists or the proper MS Access database driver is not installed (or available).

  • What is your IS server version? What is the access driver you used? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit? Based on that you need to ensure Use 32 bit runtime property is set accordingly in your job properties

  • Hi IAmANewcomer,

What's the version of SSMS? Please ensure TargetServerVersion property is matched with your version of SQL Server.

In addition, you may try to capture the exact error messages and write into a log file in your code.
