  • Hi,

In general, SQL Server 32-bit can run on 64-bit OS because 64-bit Windows uses Microsoft Windows-32-on-Windows-64 (WOW64) subsystem to run 32-bit programs without modifications.

You can try to run SQL Server Installer with administrative priviledge to avoid any potential security issue.

If problems still existed, please clarify it in details including OS version, SQL Server edition, and concrete error messages for further analysis.

Furthermore, you can visit SQL Server Forum  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/sqlserver to get more help from SQL Server experts.
