WCF not resuing some types but only on some machines but works on others. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Here at work we share code but for some reason when I update the service reference, it does not reuse some types and generates code for some of the types.  This is only happening on a type but not all types that belong to the same assembly.  Everybody else in the office are not having the same problems and we use the same code.  We are all using VS 2010 SP1.

    Steps I've tried:

    1. Repair VS 2010

    2. Reinstall VS 2010

    3. Remove and re-add the service reference

All my co-workers are using the same exact code... everything is the same including the service name just different machines and URL is localhost.

  • Hi,

The proxy will be able to reuse the types only if the types are available in the project in which you are trying do an "Add Service reference". And check if you have the some setting in the Service Reference Settings with others's machine.

Please make sure the client and service are using the same version of assembly and the shared assembly is configured to build.

    Best Regards.

    What the type is?

Do you check if you have installed the right version of .NET framework as others?

    Best Regards.
