Standalone WCF Test Client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Where do I launch the standalone WCF Test Client from? I've got a Winforms project (I like my messages on a gui form rather than console line) that I've added a WCF service which is self-hosted in the exe. I've been debugging it (successfully more or less) with a seperate winforms client which I add a service reference to. It would sure be nice to use WCF TestClient to debug it.

The WCFTestClient is found in the VS hierarcy of "Program Files";  it is a stand-alone tool which you can launch directly.  On my system the tool is found here:

    \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\WCFTestClient.exe
