Removing files from Cloud Drive cache

    Question

  • My web application serves read-only html files that are currently stored in Blob storage. I'm curious if Cloud Drive is a more suitable option in terms of accessing the Html files with File API, and performance because the files are cached locally. As I understand each instance will have to mount its own snapshot of the master drive. If certain files are cached how can I remove them from each instance cache if the file is updated in the master Page Blob?

All the instances can mount the same snapshot. If files are updated on the master page blob you would need to make a new snapshot and have all the instances connect to that for them to access the updated files. Presumably each instance could periodically check if the master page blob has changed (BlobProperties.LastModifiedUtc) and then go through an unmount/mount process if needed.
