Can't Find or Launch SSDT Projects in Visual Studio 2019 Enterprise RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running Visual Studio 2019 Enterprise.  I am also running SQL Server 2017.  I have installed the following Visual Studio 2019 workloads:

    • ASP and .NET Web Development
    • .NET Desktop Development
    • Mobile Development with .NET
    • Data Storage and Processing

No matter where I look, I am unable to access SQL Server Data Tools.  I am trying to create a database schema compare project and the components don't appear to be available in this installation.

What am I missing?  Where should I see the SSDT items?

All replies

  • 1: Launch VS installer, select More => Modify, go to individual components and make sure "SQL Server Data Tools" is selected.

2: File, new Project, search for "data"
