32 bit windows application when used in windows service is not working in Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a windows 32 bit application written in power builder, which works fine when we directly execute it in Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise. We are not getting any error when the service is started. Service will be in running mode, but we are not getting any response from the service. The service just works fine with other version of window(e.g. in Windows server 2003 R2). I did a compatibility test on the application and I got the below result

    "Program Compatibility Publisher details

    Issues found
    Incompatible Application
    fpbatch_test is incompatible. Detected
    Fix application fpbatch_test Completed

    Issues found Detection details
    fpbatch_test is incompatible"

Please let me know whether we can use this  32 bit windows applications in the windows service(in Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise) or not.

Please help me in resolving this issue as I am not getting proper information regarding this on the internet.

Let me know if more information is required on this issue.

    Thanks & Regards
