How i can get image (bitmap) without TLS and СredSSP authorization for Windows 8\2012?

I want to go through the authorization later, after connecting to the Welcome screen. It is possible, I saw these applications.

  • Update to forum. Андрей and I resolved this offline.  Recent updates via Windows Updates made his request impracticable.  He has decided to implement CredSSP and NLA (or TLS).

  • Hi Горохов Андрей,

The purpose of this forum is to support the Open Specifications documentation. You can read about the Microsoft Open Specifications program at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/openspecifications/default.  The library of Open Specification documents is located at  https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/dd208104.aspx.

From your post, it is not clear if you are trying to implement one of the protocols, specifically [MS-RDPBCGR] at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc240445.aspx.  Or, if you are writing a user-mode application calling Windows APIs (i.e., the mstscax APIs).  What documentation are you referring to?  I was also unclear what you meant by “get image (bitmap)”.  I took that to mean the first screen image.

If you are implementing the protocol or have a protocol question, we may be able to help you.  Otherwise, I suspect you may find better resources on another MSDN developer forum.

However, you must authenticate with the RDP server (the server being the machine you are remoting to) before you see the Logon or Welcome screen as there are a number of [MS-RDPBCGR] packets that must flow before an image (screen data) is actually presented.  See the [MS-RDPBCGR] Connection Sequence at [MS-RDPBCGR] 1.3.1.1 https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc240452.aspx.

  • Hello, Bryan S. Burgin.

I make the implementation of the protocol RDP.
I implemented Standard RDP Security (section 5.3).
I'm writing client application (RDP viewer).
I've already done the implementation RDP, allows you to get image (bitmap packets) with WindowsXP - Windows7\2008.

But my problem is that WinRT server can not send  bitmap packets to my client without passing authentication via TLS and CredSSP.
It is possible, I have seen other applications from other authors, allow to do so.

What steps, according to the specification, should I take to get images without the use of packages TLS and CredSSP for WinRT servers?

    Thank you.

  • What do you mean by “WinRT server”?  I take that as being the original RT Surface tablet being used as a RDP server (the system being remoted into).  I ask because as far as I know, that SKU, like the Home SKU of Windows, does not offer the feature of being the RDP server.

Can you e-mail me at “dochelp (at) microsoft (dot) com” so we can discuss off line?
