Search returns wrong URL RRS feed

  • Question

  • We currently have two servers in a SharePoint farm which is routed through ISA to do the farm load balancing. When we do a search on a sub site the results come back with the server name in the URL and not the FQDN. Here is an example:

When we navigate to https://subdomain.domain.com to do a search the search returns a URL of http://servername:port#.com. Not the http vs. the https.

Also, we did go into search admin and change our Server Name Mapping and made the appropriate mapping changes and started a full crawl, but does not seem to help.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

  • Have you verified what the Alternate Access Mappings (AAM) you are using are and if they are correct? I would suspect that your AAM does not match the URLs you are using to access the SharePoint site. SharePoint needs to be aware of the URLs you use. This is one of the purposes for AAMs.
