Ajax7 is there a way to get the visible MapTypeId rather than the selected/set MapTypeId RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, my application allows users to save not only the location of the map, but all it's associated settings - MapTypeId, Heading, Center, Zoom etc. etc.

The problem is I have to write a hack using setTimeout if the users has chosen bird's eye with a heading. My code checks to see if the type is birdseye, the problem I'm experiencing is that the users are leaving the map on auto because this by itself selects birdseye.

    Anyone got any ideas?

  • still hacky but maybe adding a handler for maptypechanged and they setting your own variable in that handler, then you can check this when you want to know?

  • Thanks Earthware, yes I've been able to hack around it.

I guess I'm implying it would be cool if the next version has a second method that could allow you to get the used MapTypeId as well as the set one.
