Error while performing "GetLatest" for a large number of files RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello

I sometimes have a problem when i perform a a get operation for a large number of files.

I'm getting the following error: "The token "" was expected but found '".

I'm using VS2013.4, this usually happens when i try to perform a get from the team project root folder (500K+ files) from TFS2015.

performing the get a second time fixes the problem.

i looked around and there is not a lot about this,

is their a resolution for this?

    thank you

  • Hello

    sorry for the late reply.

i check the event log and found no errors, i also checked the TFS diagnostics page and saw no errors there.

we also tested on another computer and we managed to reproduce it there but after the second time it stopped and did not happen again.

let me add a little more information.

we have a TFS2010 production and the error occur against a TFS2015 production like.

on the TFS 2015 production like i ran the changeserverID command to prevent cache issues when testing the new TFS2015.

could this be caused by cache issues ?

  • Hi Liran,

    Thanks for your post.

When this issue happened, please check the Event Viewer log, if any error relate to this issue, please share the detailed error message here.

The same issue happened in other VS 2013.4 on other clients when perform Get latest in Source Control Explorer too? Or only happened on your client?

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I think it’s a cache issue too.
