Managing photos and videos in Azure

    Question

  • Hi there,

My client has 500GB photos and videos which they want backup and offsite but available as a share to ten people in the office. The obvious choice that comes to mind is dropbox with carousel (for viewing) but wondering if there is something similar in azure?

  • Does it have to be Azure? Then yes, Azure Files might be an option.

If you look for a real low cost option then Azrue Storage Blobs might help. However, if you want to use Blobs then you either have to use another tool (for easy access and administration like http://storageexplorer.com/) - or you create a custom frontend (e.g. a web app) - both solutions are somehow suboptimal.

However, do they have Office 365? OneDrive for Business sounds like a perfect solution for this (and if required they can integrate OneDrive f. Business into their custom application using Microsoft Graph REST API - https://graph.microsoft.io/

  • Hi,

Would Azure Files suit their needs? Essentially it is a SMB file share from Azure storage.
