  • Overview: As of September 27, 2018, the pricing Article at: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/cost-management/ now reflects the pricing for Azure Cost Management (ACM), not Cloudyn. Until the Multi-Cloud features of ACM become available for use with AWS/Google, you will be able to extend your trial of Cloudyn for use with AWS/Google for 3 months at a time for free.

September 2018 Update: The public preview of ACM was announced in a session at Ignite. Microsoft is working to incorporate the Cloudyn functionality into the new Azure service called Azure Cost Management (ACM).  ACM is a cost management solution integrated natively into Azure which offers similar functionality to Cloudyn. ACM helps organizations analyze costs, create and manage budgets, export data, and review and act on optimization recommendations to save money.

ACM is currently in public preview for Azure, and private preview for AWS. Like Cloudyn today, ACM will be free for use with Azure, and when used with AWS will incur a fee of 1% of the monitored AWS spend.

In view of the upcoming general availability of ACM, Cloudyn trials are automatically extended by 3 months.  At the end of the three months, you will then be presented with a self-service button to extend your trial for an additional 3 months. In this manner Cloudyn will be provided as a free service until the transition to ACM.

If you are using Cloudyn to manage your Cloud costs you should continue using Cloudyn until the features you use are in public preview or Generally Available (GA) in ACM. If you are only managing Azure costs you are free to start trialing to ACM at any time and should plan to transition by mid to late 2019.  Cloudyn Administrators will be notified upon the general availability of AWS support and other key features in ACM so that they can plan to transition to ACM.

You can extend your Cloudyn trial free of charge every 3 months using the self-service button until you transition to ACM. Users should plan to transition to ACM before the end of 2019.
