Http adapter and biztalk isolated host relationship ?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Http adapter will be configured to IIS virtual directory and assign to biztalk isolated host , how the http configured in send port?
Can we configure it to direct third party webservice, or only shud configure to IIS, and which host we have to use(Isolated or Application ?)
Why we use Isolated host only for Http adapter ?

  • Hi,

You can specify the remote URL in your send port configuration.

The HTTP adapter consists of two adapters—a receive adapter and a send adapter.

The HTTP receive adapter is a Microsoft® Internet Information Services (IIS) Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI) extension that the IIS process hosts, and controls the receive locations that use the HTTP adapter.  As HTTP receive adapter is ISAPI extenstion, it can only run using Isolated host.

The HTTP send adapter gets messages from BizTalk Server and sends them to a destination URL on an HTTP POST request.  You can use in-process host for HTTP Send adapter.
