SerialPort class misbehaving? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I'm trying to use the SerialPort class to communicate with a servo controller, and I have a slightly annoying problem.  When I write anything to the output buffer, it is echoed in the receive buffer.  The controller responds properly, but when I'm reading from the receive buffer I have to intentionally ignore my own commands...  and that can get really bothersome....  When I talk to the controller with hyperterminal, this doesn't happen.  Is there any way to stop data from being echoed?

  • Odd problem, there's nothing in the SerialPort class or the serial port driver that would cause this.  Are you sure the controller is not operating in full duplex mode?  Moved to BCL forum.
