Is there a 'max-width' in the custom infobox module RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    i use the custom infobox module from Richard and it is very useful (a lot of properties). But i missing the 'max-width' (because there is a min-width).

    So what is the best way to set a fix size of the infobox? Best if there is a way to change this size dynamicly (look at the size of the 'map-div'; and change the size of the infobox).

    Thanks

  • Why not wrap your HTML content with a div that has a max width and pass that into the Infobox control.

  • You can add a max-width property to the custom HTML that you pass into the infobox content.

  • Hello Richard,

    my solution at the moment is to set the with dynamic. Your module place an 'infobox' in the body of the page and on each click, the 'body' of the infobox is built. So ater the statement

    WWE_CustomInfobox.show(LL_IB, html.join(''));

    i catch the width of the Map and set the width of the infobox

    var Breite = (parseInt(Vp_Width * 0.4) + 10) + 'px';

    $get("dWWE_MAP_infobox").style.width = Breite;

    You can see the result on http://www.ticket-saarmoselle.eu/Ticket_2011/wwE_Map.aspx

    Not realy perfect, but the layout works on tabletts and desktop and more or less on smartphones (long time to load).

    Any ideas how to better size the infobox?

    Thanks

  • The infobox control actually already calculates the width of your control for you. It looks like you are trying to override this and thus making it look the way it does. What was wrong with how it rendered by default?

  • Hello Richard,

    i try to place the 'foundation-framework' from NURB in the HTML that i generate for the infobox. The framework use a 'fluid layout'; so you define 'rows' and 'columns' an the result is a niche behavior like the XAML stack pannel.

    In addition, i set the width of the map div to 100%. In the result i got an infobox, that's 'with' was allways larger than the map-width and a part of the box reached over the map. So i got scrollbars on the page and a strange behavior. I am sure the problems result in the mix with the foundation framework. But to me, it seems easier to change the width of the infobox dynamic.
