smooth Viewstate change transition RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a C++ Store app with a scrollviewer.  In the xaml/VisualStateManager I change the scrollviewer scrolling settings according to the current viewstate change.  Everything looks fine after the transition (say from landscape to portrait) is complete.  The problem is that the transition is awkward.  The display is briefly cut in the middle with the scrollbar appearing in the wrong location/orientation.

I'd like to prepare the screen BEFORE transition starts (hide, fade, whatever).  I've tried SizeChanged, DetermineVisualState, and OnOrientationChanged.  But they all fire AFTER orientation change is complete.

Is there an event which fires before orientation change or is there a transition theme to handle this?
