Column not updating - external excel source RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a sample source with the following columns

    A B C

I've linked this in powerpivot and it brought the columns in.

When I go to the source and add a column D in

    A B C D

Why doesn't the D show up in powerpivot? extremely frustrating.

Answers

  • It depends on what sort of data source you are using, but if you have a direct connection to a SQL database table you will need to go into the table properties in PowerPivot and tick the new column to indicate that you want it included in the model.

  • Hi Jjccmck,

You need to go to Table Properties and select the Column D, so that the new column will display on your data model.
