Question on Kernel Mode Debugging for Win8 Preview latest build RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have created a specific kernel mode CallOUt driver for WIN8. In previous versions of Windows debug mode could be enabled with command bcdedit -debug on...
Is there an issue with kernel mode debugging with latest Win8 build 8230?
Last version of WinDbg (from Win8 WDK) advises to use the above command too. This command is also specified in MSDN to enable debug mode. Unfortunately test machines with last Win8 build (8230) do not return from reboot after such manipulation.
Are you aware of issues with kernel debug mode in latest Win8 preview? How should we enable it,
or it is a known issue?

  • Talk about issue with private Builds on connect and not here. This forum is about the WDP Build 8102 which was released at BUILD.

  • Andre,

Thanks - we do not see private builds in our Connect dashboard. What is the link?

  • Ed,

Thanks for the hintop - will let the developers know. We also will see if we can file it on feedback form in MS Connect.
