Problem with downloading Windows 8 Release Preview RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I am having an issue downloading a proper .iso image of the release preview. I have downloaded the file at least 5 times, and half the time, it'll start downloading and then stop at 2.0 gb or something (im downloading 64 bit, by the way) and when i do get the full 3.3 gb, the checksum given and the checksum i'm getting are totally different. below is what im getting

    provided by microsoft-

    Sha 1 hash — 0xD76AD96773615E8C504F63564AF749469CFCCD57

    what im receiving-

    SHA-1 39EC216EB443109A5941EA71D72867C23CBEA7CA

also, if i do try to go through the setup, the only option i get when it asks me what i want to keep is "nothing" and even if i do proceed, the installer says a problem occurred, at 70% completion every time.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Hello,

where are you downloading the iso image from e.g. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/download?

That is the correct Sha1 hash for the 64 bit RP iso image.  I just downloaded it again w/o issue but that doesn't help you.  In any case, we can try downloading from an alternate location if you want to send me an email to mikewong at microsoft.com.

    much appreciated,
