SharePoint Subsites display and sort RRS feed

    I want to be able to display subsites on a page and provide users with the ability to filter/sort using metadata like Department name, Project name etc. I was able to display using Content Search webpart but how do I apply sorting/filtering? I am on SharePoint Online - I can also use modern pages

    Hi, mikello,

    For SharePoint Online, you can try to use the Highlighted Content web part in modern page. It is similar to content search web part. For showing a list of sub sites, you can use this tutorial: SharePoint: How to display a list of sub sites on a modern site page. You can add filters and sort the results when setting it.

    Neither content search nor highlighted content will provide end users approach to sort/filter results. If you want to add filter or change the sort by choice, it is needed to edit the web part. If it is OK for you to provide end users permission to change the web part settings, then it may be a choice. Or you will need to create a list holding sub site information for sorting/filtering.
