WinCE 6 Intel StrataFlash driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

currently I'm wroking with the Intel StrataFlash NOR driver for my hardware. Im not a driver specialist, but in my opinion this driver does represent the PDD layer of the flash driver. I don't have add the Flash MDD catalog item to my project. So my question is: Why does the Intel StrataFlash NOR driver work without the Flash MDD catalog item? And which part does handle the wear-leveling of the NOR FLash?

    Best regards,

    Andreas

  • I am not looking at your code, but you have it.  Typically the PDD and MDD are linked together to create one DLL.

  • It works becuase - and I am guessing here -  you, or someone who worked on your BSP, added it to your platform.reg and platform.bib.

  • But in that case I must have a flashmdd.dll in my release directory?

  • The two libraries fal.lib and fmdhooklib.lib are linked to the NOR flash dll. Which library contains the MDD?

Is there a discription for the Flash MDD wear-leveling available?
