  • Question

  • We have a fact table with many (30+ bits) B1,B2,B3.....

Every bit is foreign keyed on the DimYesNo

The users want to be able to filter the rows that has B1 and B3 set to yes and B16 set to No or any other combination similar to that (B5 and B9 set the rest can be anything etc)

    How can we accomplish this?

    Thank you

    Hi Gokhan,

Have you try to add multiple filters for your Excel report? For example, B1 as a filter that we can select "Yes" or "No", and B2 as a filter that we can also select the filter values.

Excel doesn't provide the search functionality for the dimensions, but we can use PivotTable Field list to locate at the expected dimensions.

  • You'd probably want to model all the attributes as a single Junk dimension.

  • Ok but if I have a junk dimension how can I have users choose show me all where a and c is true easily without choosing individual items from the dimension, can that be made simple also?

If I have 16 boolean values that means over 65K+ dimension possibilities, how can we search through that dimension easily in Excel?

    Thanks
