SSRS 2014 - what version of MS Visual Studio and .NET framework is required?

Question
-
Hi,
(1) Currently we have SharePoint 2010, SSRS 2008 R2 in SharePoint 2010 integration mode and MS SQL Server 2008 R2 databases in back-end. All SSRS reports are developed in MS Visual Studio 2008 BIDS (version 9.0.30729.4462 & .NET 3.5 SP1) and of course reports are deployed to SharePoint 2010 document library?
(2) In future, we are planning to upgrade SSRS 2014 ONLY in existing SharePoint 2010 integration mode on MS SQL Server 2008 R2 database.
My question what version of MS Visual Studio I'll be required for this setup (SSRS 2014) to develop the reports and also what's the requirement for .NET Framework for this MS Visual Studio?Sunday, May 31, 2015 11:29 PM

Hi KM IT,
Before you upgrade a production environment, always run a test upgrade in a pre-production environment that has the same configuration as your production environment.
please find the Pre-Upgrade checklist in the article below:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143747(v=sql.120).aspx
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506.aspxFrom the above article you can find requirements about the .NET framework installation:
- .NET 3.5 SP1 is a requirement for SQL Server 2014 when you select Database Engine, Reporting Services, Master Data Services, Data Quality Services, Replication, or SQL Server Management Studio, and it is no longer installed by SQL Server Setup.
- .NET 4.0 is a requirement for SQL Server 2014. SQL Server installs .NET 4.0 during the feature installation step.
SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) is a Microsoft Visual Studio environment with enhancements that are specific to business intelligence solutions. SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) is included with SQL Server 2014. So, I will suggest you to download the Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools which support Visual Studio 2013 and SQL Server 2014.More details information:

Hi KM IT,
This update is now available for Visual Studio 2012 and 2013. For Visual Studio 2012 use the “SQL –> Check for Updates” tool inside Visual Studio or download via the download link below. For Visual Studio 2013 download check the Visual Studio update channel (Tools –> Extensions and Updates –> Updates) for this update.

Thanks Ricardo!
So if my understanding is clear than you are saying MS Visual Studio 2008 is no good for SSRS 2014 version? I have to upgrade MS Visual Studio to 2012 or 2013?
