Remove "The application should check for updates" from an existing ClickOnce deployment RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an existing ClickOnce windows forms application that uses .NET 3.5. The application runs over a very slow network and the checking for updates each time the application starts is taking too long for my clients. I have added code to the client to check for updates in the background however when I uncheck The application should check for updates and try and start the client I get an error that says

You cannot start application xxx from this location because it is already installed from a different location.

How can I make this change and not make all 3000 users uninstall and reinstall?

    Thanks,

    Brad
