generate a scene from an image (sprite) RRS feed

  • I would like to create a landscape (ground) by an image (100x100 for example), automatically, but not randomly. That is, the images are put together to form a landscape with small hills (like Mario Bros, for example).
    Once these images are the soil landscape, the scenery scrolling in advance, depending on the landscape or the time ...
    And I would try to move a character (in 4 images of broken foot), which can jump to get on relief, with the concept of weightlessness and detection of impact.

    Do you have examples of this kind?

  • This is basically a full platform game - not trivial but possible. 

    You need to create all the background images as shapes that move relative to the movement of the view and the player sprite that moves with user controls.  The player sprite position will determine the movement of the background to keep the player relatively central as the background moves.  So conceptually its just moving sprites, but it will be somewhat complicated to code requiring careful design and careful planning of the algorithms.

    Not a simple example - its a lot of bits and quite a lot of work.  You need to calculate where every image will be at every screen update.

    Both excellent examples, but quite complex.
