Is it possible to work with visual studio 2012 without framework 4.5? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have tried to move our apllication from .net 4 to .net 4.5.

During the process, we discover many problems.

We are intrested to work with visual studio 2012, but stay with .net 4.

Is it possible, and if it is, which problems that may cause?

  • VS 2012 allows you to target .NET Framework 4.0 in your projects.

Have you tried retargeting your project(s) to 4.0? If you need specific instructions for retargeting, it's done through the Project->(Your project name) Properties dialog...

More specific guidance depends on exactly which project type(s) you are dealing with, as the target framework dropdown list is on different tabs depending on project type.
