CE 5 SDK not recognized by VS 2008 under Windows 7 x64 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have installed VS 2008 on Professional Windows 7 x64.   Also installed two Smart Device SDKs created by Platform Builder 5.0  and CE 6.0 (apparently successful).   Able to build pre-existing Smart Device projects utilizing the CE 6.0 SDK  and the Msft Windows Mobile Pocket PC SDK R2.  However the CE 5.0 SDK is apparently not recognized - unable to specify a CE5 configuration for a New project.

Unable to compile pre-existing CE 5.0 Smart Device projects that were automatically converted from VS 2005 format to VS 2008.   All compilations are skipped.  Also unable to view the Project Properties for the CE 5 Platform Solution - error message is "Operation could not be completed - Unspecified error".   No such issue with the Smart Device projects that reference the CE 6.0 SDK.  Also VS 2005 running on Windows XP had no such issues - both CE5 and CE6 SDKs and all projects referencing these SDKs are completely operational.

Any troubleshooting hints (or actual solution) sincerely appreciated.  Both the CE5 and CE6 SDKs were created by us.  Thanks in advance!!
