Creating Windows Form based on XSD RRS feed

  • Is there any way or any tool out there that will generate windows form fields based on an xsd?

  • You probably meant XML.  Check out this project.  Also, .NET 3.0 supports WPF whose forms are designed with XAML.  The tools (Cider) are still alpha quality.

  • why not?  I think it could be a great feature.  Say you have an xsd configuration, you could dynamically create the form to handle the options form.

  • An XSD is a definition of the valid tags/attributes an hierarchy of an XML file.  It would be extremely rare than you could (or would want to) create a single form to handle data entry of a particular XML file.

    I once wrote an application that generates a form dynamically base on an XML, using XSD make lots of sense due to the following:

    1. you can dynamical add forms to application without having to Code
    2. you can use XML to import data in to the form
    3. use schema rules and XSLT to validate input data
