can we install .net 2.0 sp1 in windows 7 RRS feed

Answers

  • All the .net versions through 4.0 should already be installed on a Windows 7 system that is updated through Windows Update.  To see what's installed look in the Windows/Microsoft.NET folder.

  • Hello syed iftekhar ahmad.

Windows 7 comes with the .NET Framework 3.5.1 installed, so yu do not need to install the .NET Famework 2.0; furthermore, if you take a look at the %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET\Framework folder (or %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET\Framework 64 folder, if you're running a 64 bit version of Windows), you'll find on folder for each installed .NET Framework runtime version (except .NET Framework version 1.0 and 1.1 that are not available in the 64 bit version).
You'll also find several registry keys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup key, one for each installed .NET Framework version, as documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 318785.

    Bye.
