.Net Framework Unhalndled Expection Error -- System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): RRS feed

  • Question

  • I received this when trying to launch a software tool and came online to research it but found several solutions to similiar error codes. Is there anything that points out the specific problem within this error code?

    The box was labeled .Net Framework and stated that an unhandled expception had occured in the application. If you click continue it will ignore and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application wil close immediately.

    Thanks for your help!

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
       <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

  • Hi eightways1,

    Thank you for your post.

    According to the description of your problem, you failed to launch a software tool you downloaded from a website.

    Could you please let me know what this software is?

    Did you download it from Microsoft websites? If the software you have downloaded is not a Microsoft product, I recommend you contact the publisher of it. As soon as I have access to the results, I will be able to analyze this issue in depth.

    If you have any other concerns, please feel free to let me know.

  • Here is the key phrase:

    " stated that an unhandled expception had occured in the application..."

    Your problem is not in the framework, it's in the application you were running that failed to catch a raised exception.

    You should contact the publisher of whatever program you were using that caused the problem about a patch.
