  •   The streetside view is NOT working at times.  It works when I initially use it and then a few minutes of using the Maps, it does not work.

  • Hi Tom,

This is the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN).  Can you please provide details of your application and the code you are calling to show Streetside?  Sample code is available here: https://www.bing.com/api/maps/sdkrelease/mapcontrol/isdk/setviewtostreetside

If you are asking about Bing Maps in Windows and are not a developer, I suggest looking at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/bing/forum/bing_maps

Note that Streetside does not exist in all locations & does require more memory than a typical map so if you are on a slow connection or outside of streetside coverage it will not work sometimes.

    Sincerely,

    IoTGirl

  •   Hi-Yes, I am inquiring about Bing Maps in Windows & no, I am not a developer.   I'll try to figure out what application & code you are talking about- soon as I can. I do not have any app installed on any of the computers.  I did try it on several personal computers & it definitely is not working on any of them. Street View does not work at all, on any location I have tried.  Do you want any screenshots?

      Thank you!

Hi- I cannot find any code or have no app. on any of the computers I've used.  Street View has recently stopped working entirely.  I've tried it on several personal/ business computers.  I have used Windows 7 and Windows 10.  I've used the Microsoft Edge, I.E. 11, Firefox (version 69.0) Browsers & am telling you that it is NOT working.  The only other thing I BELIEVE is that there has been a change of some type on your end that is causing this issue.

    Thanks again

  • Hi Tom,

Please provide a link to where you think there should be streetside coverage and I can check for you or you can find it yourself by using the link I gave you above.

    https://www.bing.com/api/maps/sdkrelease/mapcontrol/isdk/setviewtostreetside

    Steps to see Streetside:

    1. Go to the location, in my case 1 Microsoft Way on bing.com/maps

    2. Zoom in until the streets turn blue (If they do not turn blue there is no Streetside imagery)

    3. https://binged.it/2PZme8N click on the blue street to see Streetside

    4. You should see something like https://binged.it/2N8ADx0

  • Are you running on a Corporate network or behind any firewalls or other systems that might be blocking network requests?

You might also try the Windows map app instead of the browser if you're on a Windows 10 system. Click the start menu and then scroll down to Maps to launch the maps app. Going to streetside is similar to the website. Click the road dropdown in the upper right, then select the streetside option to show the blue lines where streetside is available. Clicking on any blue line will enter streetside.

I got it to work correctly.  I had been left clicking and holding the button and then dragging to a location I wanted to see a streetside view.  It seems to me that the process has been changed.  For those who have this "problem", here's how it works now.  Left click streetside view at upper right of any maps screen (do not hold button down).  Then, you will see an icon of a person.  Move the icon to the location where you want a streetside view and left click the mouse again.  This only works where there on blue lines on the roadway.  Thanks to all that have helped me out on this!
